About Positive News Daily
Positive News Daily is a morning feed of good news. Most news is about what went wrong; we collect the stories about what went right, so you can start the day informed and hopeful.
Who we are
Positive News Daily is built and run by ApnaProgrammer, an independent developer in India. It is available on this website and as an Android app, with the same account and plans on both.
How we choose stories
Every few minutes we check the public news feeds of publishers in India and around the world, in English and in Indian and other languages. Each new story is read by an AI model that decides whether it belongs in a good-news feed and which topic it covers.
We include a story only when its core is genuinely uplifting, for example:
- people overcoming hardship, and achievements earned through effort
- kindness, community help, volunteers, and rescues that end well
- scientific, medical and technological breakthroughs that help people
- environmental recovery, conservation and clean-energy progress
- education, jobs and opportunities that measurably improve lives
- sports achievements with a human story, not just a scoreline
We leave out crime, accidents, disasters, war, political conflict, court cases, market and price moves, celebrity gossip and sponsored content, even when they are written in a hopeful tone. When in doubt, a story stays out.
No filter is perfect. If you see a story that doesn't belong, dislike it or tell us, and we use that to improve the feed.
AI summaries
For each story we write a short summary of a few bullet points, generated by an AI model from the article's public text. Summaries stick to the facts stated in the article and are labelled "AI summary". They can contain mistakes, so every story links to the original, and the full article is always the publisher's to read on their own site. On the website everyone sees the first points of each summary; full summaries come with a free account and your plan's daily allowance.
Respecting publishers
We show a headline, a short summary and the publisher's name, and send readers to the publisher's website for the full story. We don't copy full articles, and images load directly from the publisher. If you are a publisher and want your stories handled differently or removed, email apnaprogrammer@gmail.com.
Community
Readers with an account can like stories, save them and join the conversation in the comments. Comments can be reported, and we review reports and remove anything abusive.
How the site is paid for
Reading is free for everyone, and free accounts and visitors see ads. Paid plans remove the ads and include more AI summaries a day when you're signed in. See Plans for details, and our Privacy Policy for how ads use your data.
